South African property developer Citiqofficially opened the doors of Mill House this month. The building was constructed in response to a shortage of student housing in the area. But these student accommodations are unlike any other.

Citiq's structure is built by attaching unused, brightly colored shipping containers to abandoned 11-storey silos. The finished building is 40 meters high, offers 375 individual rooms, and has libraries, lounges, computer centers, and assorted study facilities dispersed among the floors. The project makes creative use of recycled materials for a worthy cause.
