Ants make art, too, people.

Check out this incredible video of an artist pouring molten aluminum into a fire ant colony, waiting for it to cool, and extracting the results. It’s an incredible piece, a network of metallic tunnels and paths.

The process video above was nabbed from YouTube, where the artist somewhat humorously writes: “I disabled comments because I'm sick of your bickering. Also, I couldn't get YouTube to stop sending me an email every time someone posted "What if I poured aluminum in your house." for the 100th time.” Poor ants! The resulting sculpture is the largest one the artist has accomplished so far, at a depth of 18 inches.

He sells the sculptures on an eBay page, for around $2,500 each. For the process that these entire things require—think about the time the ants take to build the colonies—that doesn’t seem that outrageous.
