The Chamonix Skywalk is a glass structure that sticks out over a ledge 3,396 feet above a valley in the French Alps. Inspired by the skywalk at the Grand Canyon, this glass box features a more encompassing view of the mountains and is designed for standing, not walking. In the photos above, workers and journalists wear slippers so that they don't scratch the 1/2inch thick glass floor while enjoying the amazing (and terrifying) experience. We don't really have a problem with heights, but this installation could change that. The skywalk opens to the public on December 21 so you may want to plan your trip ASAP.
