Insects are not usually thought of as ornate and beautiful, but they are the subject of Latvia-based graphic artist Alex Konahin. Konahin has created dozens of intricate insect illustrations in his new series “Little Wings.” The series was inspired by a recent trip to the Netherlands, where he sought refuge from his urban lifestyle in more natural settings. The insects are drawn using India ink and fineliners and feature interwoven layers with floral patterns and his signature mind-blowing detail.
