With such a good photo program, you would think RIT would have an eye for aesthetics. Unfortunately, the university's planners were not on the same page as the students. The campus was actually built on a swamp and is lovingly referred to as "brick city" because of its wall-to-wall (and ground-to-sky) reddish-brown brick architecture. However, we have to give credit where credit is due; the school is actively trying to implement better architecture with new construction, like the Vignelli Center for Design.
