Ben Shaffer, Design Director at Nike, was recently acquired by tech giant Apple to assist with work on their endeavors into wearable technology. Shaffer has been one of the designing minds behind its immensely popular Fuel Band and the revolutionary Flyknit shoe.

Apple is definitely getting their money's worth by adding Shaffer to the team. Not only was he running Nike's Innovation Kitchen—the magical area of Nike where all of the stuff you want to buy is dreamed up and designed—as its Studio Director, but his work with the Fuel Band puts him right in line to assist with Apple's speculated iWatch.

Considering that Nike is, at its heart, wearable technology, this seems to be a perfect fit.
