Judging by the pictures we would say that these jerseys are blue, but Adidas and the University Tennessee says that they are grey so we'll play along. The "smokey" grey uniforms are a departure from their boring white jerseys and less offensive to our eyes than the Halloween-themed black and orange fit. The colorway name is more of a nod to the school mascot (Smokey the Bluetick Coonhound) than it as an accurate description of the color, but it sounds good and a true smokey grey probably wouldn't go well with UT orange. As far as alternate jerseys go, these are different enough that fans will probably eat them up.
