Stussy and Yo! MTV Raps' collection of T-shirts, sweatshirts, and trading cards is a callback to not only hip-hop’s Golden Era, but also the days before the streetwear world became full to the brim with hype and campouts. The streetwear brand and TV show were able to highlight artists such as Slick Rick, Gang Starr, Public Enemy, De La Soul, Brand Nubian, Queen Latifah, and more.

To celebrate the collection and the special place that the TV show had in the conscience of anyone who fell in love with rap music, and to chronicle the cultural importance of Yo! MTV Raps, Stussy has put together a two-part documentary with commentary from the likes of Bill Adler, Evidence and Alchemist, Questlove, MC Lyte, Dante Ross, Rakim, Shock G, DJ Premier and more. Seriously, could hip-hop enthusiasts ask for a better host of personalities to relay the importance of Yo! MTV Raps?

Not only is this documentary packed with significant voices in hip-hop, they’re also able to relay how the TV show was capable of pushing quality rap music to a budding acceptance in pop culture.

Watch the first half of the documentary above, and the second half below. Enjoy.
