While much of the commentary is angry and bold, the new context empowers the featured women, allowing them to finally express themselves. Though in the past we may have viewed old paintings with a different eye and expected eternal silence from their scenes, the classic art gets a modern twist as subjects complain and reveal what might have been on their minds. From discussion of drugs and alcohol to surprisingly spiteful commentary, these bitches have got something to say.
The creator of Bitchface writes on the Tumblr, "I wanted to relieve every ticked-off lady in portrait of being objectified, and let them be bitches."
