Los Angeles-based artist Sylvia Ji will open her first solo-exhibition this month at Fecal Face Dot Gallery (FFDG) in San Francisco.

Entitled "Interwoven," the exhibition features acrylic paintings on wood that draw inspiration from Mexican culture, namely Mexican textiles and Day of the Dead imagery. FFDG writes that Ji's paintings are "symbolic reflections of herself, portraits of people she knows or nameless faces set in a landscape of fleeting and decaying beauty...an extension of herself; a passionate appreciation of simple aesthetic pleasure fused with intimately complex subject matter."

Check out the preview images above and head over to FFDG for more information. "Interwoven" opens July 12.
