Ali Spagnola has a very interesting and very cool art project going. A graduate of the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University, Spagnola has spent every day of the last six years painting free art on 12"x12" panels and shipping them around the world for a project she calls "Free Paintings." She takes requests via her website or by email to freepaintings@alispagnola.com, and will paint whatever you ask and ship it to your door.
Obviously with a free project like this, there is a lot of interest, and the waiting list is currently years long. Spagnola accepts donations to keep the project afloat and the larger the donation, the higher you climb on the waiting list (you should be donating and supporting the artist anyway).
