MoMA recently acquired 14 video games for their collection and received a lot of flack for it. Articles in the New Republic and the Guardian argued that video games have no business being exhibited as art with Picasso paintings. In this TED Talk, MoMA senior curator of architecture and design Paola Antonelli explains the museum's decision for acquiring the games as well as the research, discussions and consultation that they received from gaming and coding experts that supported their views of video games as maybe the most important examples of interaction design.
