Renowned architect Frank Gehry and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have worked together in the past. Gehry was hired last year to design "Facebook West," the company's Silicon Valley campus. Gehry and his design team created a very open layout that spanned 40,000 square meters and was divided into neighborhoods. Zuckerberg must have loved working with Gehry because he just asked him to design their new offices in New York City as well.

Facebook's engineering, marketing, sales, and design teams are scheduled to relocate in 2014 to a 9300 square-meter office in lower Manhattan. Gehry will design the space to similar to the redesigned California headquarters but with a New York aesthetic. In typical Facebook fashion, the offices will feature large open spaces and conference rooms so that employees can work and collaborate freely.
