While walking around the streets of Venice, Leondardo DiCaprio decided to don a dark face mask under a newsie cap and added on a pair of sunglasses. Ever the problem-solver, the actor still managed to eat a slice of pizza while wearing the bizarre mask. Channeling a certain "Invisible Man" meets tourist chic, Leo now joins Kanye West, Justin Bieber, A$AP Rocky, and Jaden Smith as the latest celebrity to put his second best face forward.
Since the 2013 edition of the Venice Biennale got underway on June 1, the ancient city and it's canals have been flooded (poor word choice?) with celebrities, so we're not sure why Leo felt like he had to hide behind the mask. Perhaps, as the New York Post queried, he's attempting to revive his 1998 film The Man in the Iron Mask?
Maybe Leo was attempting to comment on the status of celebrity culture as we theorized Jaden did when the 14-year-old dressed up as Iron Man. Our best guess is that Leo enjoyed a night similar to Venice's infamous carnevales, and topped off the bacchanalia with end-of-the-night pizza. Hey, we've all been there, and probably wished we could've hidden behind a mask, too.
