Ron Johnson and Nick Wooster's attempt to retool slumping retail giant JCPenney was a slight affirmation that Middle America wasn't ready for #menswear. Instead of letting the store's brief era of semi-exciting clothes, slim-fit shirts, and suits that fit fade into RSS feeds, the retailer decided to pop a few shots at Johnson and Wooster's regime; affirming customers that the "old" JCPenney was back.

In a new campaign entitled "It's No Secret," the retailer narrates, "Recently, JCPenney changed, some changes you liked; some you didn't. But what matters with mistakes, is what you learn, we learned a very simple thing: to listen to you."

To end the commercial, the narrator closes with, "Come back to JCPenney, we heard you."

There's nothing like your ex-boss announcing you were a failure after you quit. It's much like your ex-girlfriend posting on Facebook about how glad she is to be single and "feel like her self again."

But your ex-girlfriend sucks, so, we expect Wooster to and Johnson to move on to great things in the future.
