Prosthetics Exhibition at SHOWcabinet Explores Body Transformations (Video)

An exhibition at SHOWcabinet in London focuses on the theme of prosthetics, as it displays various wearable suits, braces, horns, and more that modify the shape of the body. While today prosthetics commonly refers to artificial body parts used for replacement, the show draws reference from the Greek root of the word "prosthesis," which indicates an addition—to present various devices that extend, limit, or morph the standard form of the human body. Fashion film website SHOWstudio worked with designer Úna Burke to create Bound, a film featuring distorted movements by a black leather piece. Watch it below:
