Madonna has decided to sell a painting from her private collection to help female educational initiatives. Trois Femmes à la Table Rouge (Three Women at the Red Table) by Fernand Léger will be sold by Sotheby's May 7. The painting is reportedly worth $5-7 million, and all proceeds will go to the Ray of Light Foundationthat supports girls' education in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and other countries.
On Madge's official website, it says that only 12 percent of Afghanistan's women are literate and only seven girls against every ten boys can attend school. In Pakistan, it is estimated that over 3 million primary school-aged girls cannot get educated at a school.
