There's simply no limit to James Franco's cultural dominance. Fresh off his appearances in Oz and Spring Breakers, in addition to the announcement that Marina Abramovic is making a movie about his life, he's now moderating a very important performance in NYC this weekend.
Bird Shit is a Chekhov and Ginsberg-inspired multimedia performance combining theater, dance, video, live, and prerecorded music produced by Shruti Ganguly and Anna Kooris. Artist and musician, Nina Ljeti, choreographer, Chloe Kernaghan, and NYU Graduate Film students Joshua Richards, Zach Kershberg, and Tine Thomasen are presenting this piece under the guidance of Franco at MoMA PS1 on Saturday. It follows Chekhov's The Seagull in many ways, including the romance and drama surrounding characters Treplev, Nina, Trigorin, and Arkadina. Get tickets for the performance here.
