Gimme the Loot, out in NYC now (and in LA and Chicago this weekend, 3/29), is centered around characters, Malcolm and Sofia, who are the most determined teenage graffiti-writers in the Bronx. After a rival gang buffs their latest masterpiece, they make a plan to get revenge by planning the ultimate graffiti tag—to “bomb” the Mets’ home run apple. Their adventures are as numerous as they are inspiring, proving why the film was an official selection of the Cannes Film Festival, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival, and winner of the Independent Spirit Someone to Watch Award.
