Urban Outfitters More Than Doubled Its Profits in 2012

Last year, there was an increase in folks walking around in 5-panel hats, oxford shirts, and camo-print pants—not only because they were all over the blogosphere, but because Urban Outfitters more than doubled its 2011 profits, WWDreports.

Cashing in more than $82 million (up from $39.3 million in 2011), the "hipster"-favorite retailer thanked its sales increase to a heightened online presence. "We are still in a very early stage of unlocking the potential that the Internet and mobile technologies bring to the consumer industry," CEO Richard Haynes said.
