Using the remaining structures of two former gas stations from the 1980s, Amsterdam North has created a recreational park space for locals living in the area. With screen installations by Sophie Valla Architects underneath the existing roof structure, the site is transformed into a platform of glowing colors. Each of the screens, sixty textile panels made from reused fabrics, can be programmed accordingly to display an array of twenty representations of the Dutch skies. The project was built by decreasing the Nieuwe Leeuwarderweg Highway by seven meters and connecting three existing green spaces.
