Manhattan Restaurant Miss Lily's Commissions Artist Toland Grinnell to Design a Sleek Machete

The tool is an important object in Jamaican culture.

Miss Lily's is a restaurant in the middle of downtown Manhattan that specializes in Jamaican-style cuisine. The diner's partners Serge Becker and Matt Goias teamed up with artist Toland Grinnell to design a machete, or as Jamaicans would call it, a cutlass. Widely regarded as a popular fixture of Caribbean life, Grinnell crafted a perfectly-stitched sheath holding the stainless steel blade. The sheath is painted it with the colors of the Jamaican flag in Goyard's signature monogram style.
