Slip House

Location: London

Architect: Carl Turner Architects

The structural form of the Slip House mimics three slipped boxes, with the top box accommodating the living space, the middle the bathing and sleeping spaces, and the bottom accommodating a multi-purpose space. The Slip House does not offer the views of other fully glazed homes, as the translucent glass, in many instances, is used to cover the underlying framework rather than the windows. Nonetheless, the Slip House still manages to have the light-filled atmosphere of the fully window-panelled homes, with added privacy.
