With the aim of readdressing the "fundamental elements of architecture," Rem Koolhaas has been named curator and director of the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale. Koolhaas received the Golden Lion for Achievement award at the 2010 biennale, and brings to the event a heady thirst for research and a first-hand understanding of the new celebrity granted to architects.

Koolhaas is the founding partner of Dutch firm OMA and the man behind the famous CCTV Headquarters.
