Last October, photographer Jill Greenberg released a book with Rizzoli titled Horses, which features stunning images of horses painted in post-production. In our interview with her discussing the project and its difficulties, Greenberg said, "Horses are prey animals. If you work with prey, they think that you’re going to kill them at any moment."
Given the difficulty of the project, and its deeper exploration into the dual masculinity and femininity of the horse, it's exciting to see the book's cover on the cover of American Photo magazine.
