Attempting to "highlight the contrast between the permanence of sculpture vs. the ephemeral nature of street art," Guido van Helton has produced a new series that brings classic public art to unusually urban locations. His work, entitled "Vacancy," finds him painting versions of antique marbles against contemporary graffiti. He's painted primarily in Australia, and succeeds in smart use of shadow.
