The Westrand Cultural Center of Dilbeek, Brussels has been reinvigorated to reflect its surrounding environment. It's surrounded by the Wolfsputten natural forest from the north and the Main Square and City Hall from the south. To the east, there are suburban villas, and to the west, the cultural center expands. To make it stand out architecturally, Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos added vertical-strip windows based on a 2D composition of paintings and artistic theories. It contains an auditorium and theater and is built with laminated wood from sustainable sources. To put it simply, it's sophisticated and sustainable inside and out.
