News broke out earlier this week that long-time designer Nicolas Ghesquière is stepping down as Balenciaga's creative director. There have been rumors as to who will take the helm, the latest one being Christopher Kane. The London designer might not be a bad fit for the brand but he'll have a lot on his plate, given his current posts at his eponymous label and spearheading the relaunch of the Versus brand.

Carine Roitfeld, former editor of French Vogue, said she wasn't surprised Ghesquière resigned. Ghesquière will leave his post at Balenciaga on Nov. 30.
