The Mexican royal eagle is an unmistakable symbol of a nation. However, it is also on the verge of extinction.

In an unprecedented collaboration, Breitling has teamed with the Mexican Natural Conservation Fund in an effort to support and protect the last of the emblematic species.

At the core of the collaboration is a special edition watch, the Avenger Blacksteel Chrono "Aguila Real Mexicana." Designed by artist Francisco Toledo, the chronograph presents a subtle tribute to Mexico's tricolor—red, white, green—on the face. The back of the watch features an exclusive design honoring the royal eagle, created exclusively for Breitling by the Oaxaca-based artist.

Proceeds from the sale of the collectors edition watch will contribute directly to preservation of the royal eagle.

The watches, limited to 250, go on sale today.
