Six years after French football player Zinedine Zidane was handed a red card from the 2006 World Cup championships for headbutting another player, a bronze statue has gone up in Paris to remember the incident that caused France to lose the game. The 5-meter tall statue, titled "Headbutt," was created by Algerian artist, Adel Abdessemed. The organizer of Abdessemed's upcoming Pompidou retrospective says, "This statue goes against the tradition of making statues in honour of certain victories. It is an ode to defeat."
