Belgian native Tim Coppens didn't start off as your typical high-fashion designer. Instead, his design chops were first honed at Adidas as a senior designer where he tinkered with new technologies and developed different ways of constructing garments. In an exclusive interview with Barneys, Coppens explains that his experimentation in activewear opened up new ways of constructing things and serves as inspiration for his eponymous F/W collection—Drive, ice hockey and racing uniforms. Not bad Tim, though we're not big on NASCAR ourselves.
