Audrey Kawasaki specializes in haunting paintings of sultry, seductive female subjects. Many of her works have a dream-like quality, almost all are extremely alluring. Midnight Reverie, Kawasaki's latest body of work, is now on view at Jonathan LeVine Gallery. The exhibition marks a new direction, not in subject but in use of background, for Kawasaki. She's given her paintings fresh, detailed black geometric shapes which function to form passages into the minds of her muses.
