The "OIR" art project is set to transform the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro into one massive art gallery. Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa has kicked things off with a bang, installing a 12-meter sculpture of resin and marble dust in Guanabara Bay. Officially titled "Awilda," the work rises from the water and casts an impressive shadow on the beach.

Other artists involved in "OIR," which stands for Other Ideas For Rio, included Robert Moris, Andy Goldsworthy, and Henrique Olveira.
