Improbably, nobody has ever built Rome's famous Colosseum out of LEGO. Australian architect Ryan McNaught now lays claim to a world's first, a feat he describes as the most technically challenging of his career, and the creation of a magnificent scale model. Shown in present ruined form, McNaught's version of the Colosseum is complete with gladiators, legionaries, exotic animals, and tourists. It was built for the Nicholson Museum at the University of Sydney, where it will remain on view though January 2013. [Design Taxi]
