The Bowery/Houston Street mural wall has a long and star studded history. Aiko Nakagawa is the latest artist to take the coveted corner and is the first woman to paint the area solo. She follows in the grand footsteps of Haring, Scharf, McGee, and others. Lady Aiko was born in Japan and has lived in New York since the mid-90s. Her version of urban pop is born from her work with Takashi Murakami and as a founding member of the street art collective Faile. It's the perfect aesthetic for summer in the city. [Arrested Motion]
