Fall Forecast: Maison Kitsuné

None

The Maison Kitsuné we see today has come a long way in the very short amount of time it's been present on American soil. By drastically improving each consecutive season, Kitsuné is easily one of the most buzzed about Parisian brands this side of A.P.C, the perennial torchbearers for non-runway, French menswear. Kitsuné's strength lies in its ability to cross-pollinate the familiar with the desired—classic garments, often American in origin, delivered through a decidedly European lens. Forgiving another A.P.C mention, it's a similar route to the one Jean Touitou and his brand have been taking since 1988. Not to be outdone by anyone, let alone fellow countrymen, Kitsuné has set itself apart from the field with their attention to fabric sourcing, cuts and, specifically, outerwear. F/W 12 may have been inspired by British cycling, yet feels like a sophisticated take on recognizable American streetwear. With the collection's emphasis on movement in mind, and our own perceived framework of streetwear, we decided to give Kitsuné a friendly shred test.
