In case you didn’t know, at this point in time we have knowledge of 786 planets. This number doesn’t seem like a lot, especially taking into consideration the sheer vastness of the Universe. But, it looks even less when laid out in Randall Munroe’s Exoplanets chart. In his chart Munroe drew each planet to scale and placed them side-by-side. He notes that the fact that most of these planets are so large is because these were the kind scientists learned to detect first. Munroe also highlights our tiny solar system, so you can see just how little we matter. [XKCD]
