The Roy Lichtenstein Retrospective at Art Institute of Chicago (which made our 25 Most Anticipated Exhibitions of 2012) is showing from May 22 to September 3, 2012. Featuring over 160 drawings, paintings, and sculptures, it will first show at Art Institute, then will travel to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Tate Modern in London.

Art Institute describes Lichtenstein as someone who “systematically dismantled the history of modern art while becoming a fixture in that canon,” and we couldn't agree more. [Artinfo]
