John McAslan + Partners cook up stunning new entrance for historic rail station.
Kings Cross Station, known to Harry Potter fans for platform 9 3/4, has received a glorious new entrance ahead of the Olympics. The concourse, with lattice-like roof, spans 52 meters and covers the bulk of the stations lobby. The juxtaposition of new design and original 1852 building works well, and brings the formerly downtrodden area new verve. [Tree Hugger]
