22. CAVE

CAVE is a native Washingtonian who began writing in 1997, and got down with the 2DK L.A.B. Mentored by KAOS, a prolific Red Line writer in the late '90s, CAVE became known for his breakdown of traditional letterforms, a style which sets him apart from many of his contemporaries. His no-nonsense reputation has been galvanized by a number of high profile beefs, while he has always been content to let his work speak for itself. His influence on writers in the DC area grows every year he continues to paint, and particularly within DC’s current generation of young writers to whom CAVE has become a mentor and teacher.
