Curators sometimes joke (however feebly) that if you want to make a blockbuster exhibition, all you have to do is use the words “Impressionist,” “Holocaust,” and/or “gold” in the title and visitors will swarm like locusts. Art’s greatest hits are especially dominant during the summer, when vacation time and air conditioning draw more people to museums and galleries.
But, when the Bermuda shorts and flip-flops are put away, does all the good art go with them? Of course not. We’ve scanned the coming attractions of this great nation, as well as a few others, to prove that this eternal summer shall not fade. In fact, it might even get better.
