Some of the trippy deconstructed portraits from Chad Wys' series Nocurne look as if someone took a magic eraser and eliminated 3/4 of the subject's features, while others seem like the subject is peeking through a layer of wet, dripping paint. Wys toys with the idea of space and background and challenges the viewer's conventional perceptions by creating otherwise realistic features, such as the eyes in some, the nose or mouth in others.
