Designer Verner Panton was instrumental in bringing both color and plastics to the Danish furniture industry, previously stuck in the rut of blond wood. His side chair, a real curvy number, came out originally in fiberglass during 1967. Among the first chairs manufactured in a single piece, the Panton Side Chair has been reissued in polypropylene by Vitra.
At the moment, Conran Shop is offering them for just $221.
Not too bad for a design classic.
