Ever wondered what it would be like to resettle on Mars? Joshua Frankel's short film, Plan Of The City, follows a storyline in which New York City's architecture blasts off into outer space and is relocated to the Red Planet. The film's visuals are an animated collage combining live action footage, animated elements, illustrations and treated photographs, including photos taken by the Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity. The short movie was created in collaboration with indie classical ensemble NOW and composer Judd Greenstein.
Plan Of The City was made possible through a generous grant from the New York State Council on the Arts.
