Bryant Park Hotel (formerly the American Radiator Building)
Architect: David Chipperfield
Midtown
In the early 90s, David Chipperfield swooped in and transformed the ARB into the Bryant Park Hotel, a decadent, sky-high structure smack dab in the middle of Manhattan. The overall façade oozes old-school allure, maintaining the original Art Deco designs from architects André Fouilhoux and Raymond Hood. The tower, however, is a neo-Gothic masterpiece that features gilded terra cotta ornaments and a bronze crown.
