The New Museum is worth the $12 admission fee this month, with the Lynda Benglis retrospective that opens today a floor below the George Condo: Mental States exhibit. Benglis' "Fallen Paintings" first contributed to modern art in the late ’60s, with sculpture that mimics geological flow and frozen action. Made from beeswax, polyurethane foam, plaster, and bronze, pieces pile up in corners, reach from walls, or just ooze on the floor. This is her first retrospective shown in New York, and is definitely some eye-candy worth catching on your way out of Condo's madhouse upstairs. [New Museum]
Exhibit See: Lynda Benglis at the New Museum
This new exhibition opens today alongside George Condo, and it's some psychedelic sh*t. Literally.
