WHY WE CO-SIGN: When it comes to fashion and design, simple is usually better. No one knows that better than Kevin Carney, the founder of The Generic Man shoe company and their sister sneaker company Generic Surplus. Both lines feature extremely, simple, uber-functional pieces that pretty much go well with everything and don't cost you an arm over leg. It's all function over flash. Just how we like it. Taking that aesthetic to a larger level, Kevin along with his partner Bo, founded Mohawk General Store in Echo Park, Los Angeles. Besides being on the best places in the country to find products from both Generic brands, Mohawk is the best place to find, well, functional, non-fussy clothing from brands that we all know and trust like Engineered Garments and Alexander Yamaguchi. But you won't need us telling how about the product of the shop, just take a look at the photo's and you'll see the same design ideas threaded throughout the store. The whole shop looks like someones living room, leaving the attention to be laid on solely the clothes. It doesn't get any simpler than that...
