Jeffrey Jordan, the oldest son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, has reportedly been hit with an assault charge.

According to TMZ, the 32-year-old was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted hospital staff in Arizona. The outlet writes that the incident took place as Jordan was being treated for an injury he sustained Friday night at the Scottsdale bar Casa Amigos. Police say the University of Illinois alumnus “fell and hit his head” at some point during the night, prompting bar security to get involved.

The staffers tried to escort Jordan out of the bar so he could get medical treatment; he allegedly became combative with security and police were asked to assist. After interviewing several witnesses, officers determined the incident was “medical in nature” rather than criminal. Jordan was transported to a nearby hospital, where the situation apparently escalated.

According to a police report, Jordan assaulted the hospital staff while receiving treatment. The details of the alleged attack have not been revealed, though authorities confirmed he was booked into jail Saturday on one count of aggravated assault of a healthcare professional. He was reportedly released shortly after.

Insiders tell TMZ that Jordan “was confused and disoriented” following the fall. He has yet to publicly address the incident.

Jeffrey Jordan played college basketball at Illinois until 2010, when he transferred to the University of Central Florida with his little brother Marcus. Though he didn’t play in the NBA, Jeffrey has remained active in the sports and entertainment arenas, landing a lead position with Jordan Brand as well as co-founding Heir Jordan, which he described as “a vehicle for investing, philanthropy, and marketing.”
