Caterham is known for the brilliant Seven... and that's it. One can purchase a Seven in five different flavors and at five different prices, but it's still really just one car.
That's why this piece of news is so big: there will be another Caterham model in 2015. It will be available as a coupe and as a convertible. It may be mid-engined. Said engine may be a Ford. It will be a "useable sportscar."
Caterham's Ansar Ali pitched the idea to several design houses, and CAR Magazine says his poker face broke when they mentioned Pininfarina.
We'd take a Pininfarina designed Caterham any day.
