Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has had an eventful week. After giving an apology for threatening an ESPN scribe, Brown went ballistic at his offensive coordinator during Pittsburgh's loss to the Chiefs and hadn't appeared to calm down the next day when he alluded to a trade after someone questioned his value on Twitter.

#Steelers WR Antonio Brown in the locker room: “It was a guy that used to work here, a PR guy … take a personal shot at me. But obviously I don’t want to be traded and I’m still grateful to put on my uniform. ... I just got to stay away from online with the distractions…"

Compounding his problems was an unexcused absence from practice on Monday. It was enough his high-powered agent had to release a statement that all the of swirling stories about his unhappiness were overblown. On Thursday, Brown explained the tweet and reiterated his commitment to the team, downplaying the trade tweet:

Brown said his Monday no-show was for "personal reasons," and  "the coach knew where I was at. We talked. It's between me and him."

Coach Mike Tomlin admitted "there was discipline involved for his missed meeting on Monday," but wouldn't specify what that might be. Whatever the consequence was, it won't keep Brown off the field on Monday when the Steelers travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers.
